Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers are the Weval’s musical brains and muscles of the whole operation. They have developed catchy arrangements perfused by a rarefied pop magic. They play slow-burning, emotive, and highly dynamic electronic music, not forgetting the taste for danceable drama and epic melodies. Brimming with powerful synth hooks, rousing rhythmic patterns and expertly juxtaposed intensities, Weval’s music lends itself rather well to a live setting – but that doesn’t mean that it necessarily follows the prime-tie rule-book of constant in-your-face power play. Rather opting for a different much more nuanced approach, Harm and Merijn adapt their intimate sound to anywhere they play. And in addition, their music will be accompanied by a new art installation Clavilux-neue by creative Thijs Biersteker. Together it will be an awesome final at the International Festival of Technology!
