Living with social robots

This interactive workshop is presented by Koen Hindriks, Associate Professor at the Delft University of Technology in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science within the Interactive Intelligence section. He will make you familiar with social robots that will become part of our society any time soon now. Social robots that look like us invoke emotional responses from us and are social machines that will interact using speech as the new interface. We will explore how it feels to interact with social robots by talking to them in close interactions. We will also explore the use and application of social robots together in various contexts such as schools and hospitals. Robots are new teaching aids which we will demonstrate by performing a quiz on language together (so bring your smartphone so you can participate!).
